Pattern Upload Instructions

To contribute your favorite pattern(s) you just need to have an image to upload and the link to the pattern description (Yes, the description should be online! If it is not, publish it first). Alternatively, you can send your material by email and we will upload it on your behalf.

Before you upload, please, check the gallery’s contents to make sure that your pattern is not there yet. Use the Description field to enter the download link as well as other information about the pattern (title, source/author, language, etc.).

Your uploaded image will be held for moderation. Have some patience, do not upload repeatedly.

Here are some more hints for successful upload:

  • If the original image is too large (over 1MB), please scale it down to about 800×600 pixels. Otherwise, the upload may fail due to timeout or shortage of available memory at the server.
  • Make sure that the name of the image file does not contain special characters or spaces. A short name consisting of standard Latin letters and numbers is the best option!
  • If the uploaded image is not displayed properly, do not upload it repeatedly. Knits4Kids moderator will take care of it. You can help by notifying us about the problem.

  1. hello Ladies, I Need help pls. I tried to view the Pattern by clicking the Image. To my dismay, only Picture come out and there is no instructions where and how to download it. Only Show where will you that the Picture.. Thank you very much and have a nice day.

    • I have just checked, the gallery works ok. Make sure javascript is enabled. The picture should open in overlay mode with the link to the pattern under the image as its caption.

      • For me the picture and link comes up but when I click the link an error message comes up that the script “http://knits4kids.com/wp-inclu…js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.2:3” is “not responding” and my options are to “continue, debug script, stop script” the screen locks up for a good while without ever going to the link. I’m not say enough to figure this out. Can you help me?

        • I have check that page, it works for me (using Google Chrome). Maybe it was something temporary. If it happens again, select “continue” and see what happens.

  2. I am a bit slow when computer navigation is involved, can never find the whole ‘album’ only pieces.
    I had Stvetlana’s kind help.. then she pointed me in a direction and found 7 pages of booties/shoes ect.
    My gast was flabbered lol I was soooo happy, now I need to find the place for all the toys and lovies.
    Knit/crochet for charity is my hobby so to find a collection will keep me quiet for months.

  8. is there a key for the patterns that are only graphs?  I love many of the japanese patterns but not sure how to read the graphs.  Or even beter, can someone actually just translate them to english.  Thx

    • Most of Japanese craft books have keys included or even photo tutorial of various stitches. You can visit the Japanese section of the online library, choose section Books in Japanese or Ondori or Asahi Original and take a look at some books. They all use the same symbols, so it is enough to find just a couple of them. Also, on Ravelry there is a forum on Help with Japanese Patterns. I have no link to it, but I remember to have seen it.

  10. what would the cocoons be under to download it takes me to the collection but thn i dont know what catergory to look under to down load..like baby sets or afghans ?
